The Committee on Environmental Policy, Use of Natural Resources and Elimination of Consequences of Chornobyl Disaster upholds the Bill on Ratification of the Amendment to the Supplement B of Kyoto Protocol to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change

The Bill (Reg. No. 0138) envisages ratification of the Amendment to the Supplement B of Kyoto Protocol to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change that envisages accession of the Republic of Belarus to the Supplement B of Kyoto Protocol, and sets the quantitative obligations concerning reduction of man-made emissions of greenhouse gases by 92% of 1990 rate during 2008-2012.

The Committee members stated that Ukraine had ratified the Kyoto Protocol on 4 February 2004, making a commitment to take necessary measures to bring its total man-made emissions of greenhouse gases in accordance with the obligations fixed in the Supplement B of Kyoto Protocol.
